Children are admitted to our Nursery class at the beginning of the autumn and spring term. Children admitted to the Nursery class will have their fourth birthday during the year. This does of course depend on availability of places. We also admit children at other times if a place becomes available. The majority of places are part-time, for three-hour long sessions either morning or afternoon, five days a week, however we also offer full time places.
Leicester City Council is responsible for the admissions policy for Mainstream School
Criteria for admission to mainstream school:
Published admission number: 60
Places are allocated to pupils who have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) which names the school before any other allocations are made. These allocations will reduce the number of places available.
Admission to Reception: Children whose fifth birthday falls between 1st September and 31st August are admitted to school at the beginning of the Autumn Term.
Year 1: Children whose sixth birthday falls between 1st September and 31st August are admitted to school at the beginning of the Autumn Term.
The school has one Nursery class – offering both full time and part time places and two classes in each of the other Year Groups. All our year group classes are mixed ability.
In the Evington area there are three Secondary Schools that the majority of our pupils go on to in the Autumn Term following their eleventh birthday. These schools are Judgemeadow Community College, Crown Hills Community College and City of Leicester College, Mandani boys & girls, Sir Johnathan North & St., Pauls Catholic Secondary. Pupils need to apply for a place in one of these schools during the Autumn Term of Year 6.
If you wish to apply for a place at Linden Primary School, you need to do so through the the local authorities online admissions portal. The link can be seen below:
